Now, I know what most of you are thinking.
"Hang on, dear intrepid reporter! It's bloomin' the end of November. How come it's taken you so long to get round to this one, eh?"
Well, I can only apologise. There has been a bit of a delay in getting an image from a particular mobile phone onto a particular computer. Modern technology and all that. But we're there now.
So: on October 7th our principal cornet, James Murray, celebrated his 70th birthday. Jim has been a member of Besses, on and off, for 60 years now. Such a high level of commitment is to be applauded, and is rare in today's society. To Jim, we say very best wishes for your 70th birthday year - here's to many more! - and long may your association with Besses continue.
Just a few days before Jim's birthday, Besses played at the contest in Fleetwood and were placed First in the Second Section. A great result on the day and we're very pleased to be moving in the right direction. Onwards and upwards!
