Josh Hughes
Started Playing:
Josh started playing at the age of 12 on B-flat cornet and was taught by the Tottington Band. After moving to the Haslingden and Helmshore band, I also decided to join the Radcliffe band on cornet. After a few months, Matt Bailey persuaded me to move onto Soprano, and I've never looked back.
Previous Bands:
Tottington Public Band, LittleBorough Public Band, Haslingden and Helmshore, Radcliffe Band, Wardle High School Youth Band, Wardle Anderson Brass, Stockport Youth Brass Band.
Memorable Banding Moments:
Playing at the National Finals in Harrogate with Haslingden and Helmshore 2008. Winning my 1st Contest with Besses at Fleetwood Contest 2010. Oh, and there's one particular Eb Bass player who has a special place in my heart... You know who you are.
Favourite Piece:
It has to be Journey Into Freedom!
