Christopher Lydon
Started Playing:
I started on cornet at primary school, and then was instructed by the head of music from my soon-to-be secondary school that I was to be his next tuba player. I thought, "Well, fair enough." And thus it was.
Previous Bands:
No previous, m'lord. (Brass bands, that is.)
Memorable Banding Moments:
Blackpool, Blackpool, Blackpool. Memorable, certainly. Oh, and there's one particular Soprano cornet player who has a special place in my heart... You know who you are.
Favourite Piece:
Light Cavalry Overture. Without a shadow of a doubt.
More about:
I spend most of my time with young offenders, actors in caves, old rockers in a chicken shed studio or with some of the country's finest young musicians. It's an odd life, sometimes.
