As many of you know the bandroom has been in a bad decorative state for quite a while. So with a little Interior Design a ladder cans of paint,  brushes and one more ingredient, Hmm yes (The Team). Team, what team? well for a start there's Andy, Josh, Dave, Steve, Neil and Natalie and of course all workers need to be fed, so many thanks to our Flugel player Victoria for providing sandwiches.

It is with great regret that Besses have to announce the departure of 2 Star cornet players, Flis Kirk and Robert Greaves who unfortunately for Besses are having to move on due to work comitments.

They have been with Besses for the past few months and helped with the rebuilding of the band under Jonathan Lo and, more recently, the New Besses Resident MD James Holt.

The band wish to thank Robert and Flis for all there hard work and enthusiasm in there time with us, and we wish them the very best of luck with his future endeavours. We hope to see you both back with us Soon !

In the time that this intrepid reporter has been with the band, we've never been this close to having a full band full time, which is brilliant. Soon, thanks to Josh Hughes, our soprano cornet player, we will have profiles of the players and other people essential to making the running of Besses possible.

Besses are getting into the swing of their summer season following two concerts in Prestwich. They followed up a scorching concert in St Mary's Park with a sensational Broadway concert for Prestwich festival which left many audience members visibly moved. Chair Matthew Bailey said, "The band is playing the best it has for some years. Under our new conductor Jonathan Lo, we're really entertaining people and I'm excited for the summer ahead."

As well as various jobs around the area, Besses' next concert is this Sunday June 6th at Radcliffe Civic Hall. Starting at 2:30pm, the band will join forces with the Affetside Choir for the ever-popular "Brass and Voices" afternoon. Tickets are priced at £6 and available at the hall or on the door.
