A massive "Thank You" goes out to everyone who helped in whatever way to make tonight's concert at Stand All Saints Church the huge success it was. If you were in the audience, performing, part of the team at the church, everyone!
We pulled together the evening's entertainment at very short notice to raise money for the Disaster Emergency Committee's Haiti Earthquake Appeal, after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti on 12th January.
(You can visit the DEC website here www.dec.org.uk )
The evening featured Besses o' th' Barn Band conducted by Jonathan Lo, Footsteps Dance School, a talk from Martin Fisher (one of the aid workers who went to Haiti in the aftermath of the quake), a raffle with prizes donated by local companies and organisations, and final performance from the band conducted by Dr Roy Newsome.
We are very, very pleased to announce that the total raised tonight was....
£929.66
This
is really outstanding and a testament to the hard work that has gone
into the evening from all quarters, to keep the Haiti Appeal at the
forefront of people's minds as this disaster continues to unfold.
A
few specific "Thank You"s need to go out to:
- All Saints Church
- Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service
- Dr Roy Newsome
- Manchester City Football Club
- Bury Football Club
- Oldham Athletic Football Club
- Radcliffe Borough FC
- Manchester Phoenix
- Slattery's
- Croma Prestwich
- Ivan Lewis MP
- Image UK
- The players who joined us for the massed ban
Finally, a great big "Thank You" to the audience for coming and
supporing everyone tonigh. Without an audience, an event such as this really is pointless. So, Thank You!
