Besses o' th' Barn Band
Somebody, naming no names, has decided the band should now face the other way in the bandroom.
Is this the right path for Besses o' th' Barn, with its vast and great history, to take?
Perhaps the greatest impact of this change is this: the basses (perhaps the hardest working section of the band) now have to walk approximately 20 more feet to get to their seats, holding, remember, their instruments.
Following our successful EGM recently, Besses has been making great plans for the future and has got the new committee in place to put this plans into action.
Our new website is one of those key aims and we will keep you updated with all our other activities.
Please have a look at the "Support Us" section to see how you can help Besses and secure its future for another century or two!
Our intrepid band sergeant, James Holt, spearheaded a recent effort to tidy up the band room - and everyone freely admits, a brilliant job has been done. The band room upstairs and downstairs looks cleaner and tidier than it probably has in the past 10 years!
During this process, we have discovered that various things which should be there... aren't! So, soon we will be announcing details of an amnesty to try to find these items that been gone missing over the years.
Besses are pleased to announce we have just confirmed a concert on Saturday 30th August, 11am - 2pm, at Radcliffe Piazza.
Please come along and support us if you can. We're hoping for good weather to join us in a selection of popular music from the brass band world!
